Not sure if a marketing automation tool you have (or are considering) plays nice with your other software platforms? Or maybe you’re looking for a less expensive option for marketing automation?
This guide lists hundreds of integrations across the most popular marketing automation platforms all in one place.
To create this guide, we analyzed documentation from Marketo, Oracle Eloqua, HubSpot, Act-On, Salesforce Pardot, Keap, and Pipedrive.
In Part 1, we'll share a (non-technical) description of how these companies use the word “integration.” As you’ll see, not all integrations are the same.
Understanding the two types will help you make better decisions as you consider your marketing automation options.
In Part 2, we provide a detailed list of integrations for top marketing automation platforms, including:
Salesforce
Keap
Marketo
Eloqua
HubSpot
Act-on
Pipedrive
Note: Want to see which companies visit your website—even if they don’t fill out a form? Try Leadfeeder for free.
Part 1: What do marketing automation providers mean when they say “integration?”
Before you start looking at specific integrations, it's helpful to understand what marketing automation providers mean when they say the word “integration.”
There are a range of integration types and features, but we're going to keep things simple by focusing on the two most common:
Direct API Integrations
Third-Party Integration Hubs
Here’s a closer look at what these mean and how it impacts your business.
1. Direct API integrations
Direct API integrations are the integrations most people think of when they hear the word “integration.”
API integrations are direct connections that transfer data between two software applications. They can be pre-built and available “out of the box,” or they can be built as custom integrations unique to an organization’s specific needs.
Some API integrations can be used or turned on by anyone with an administrative login. Others Require help from your development team or an outside specialist to make them work.
For example, at Leadfeeder, we’ve built our own tracking script and we have an integration with Google Analytics, which lets you enrich data from your Google Analytics account directly from within Leadfeeder.
We also integrate with CRMs and other sales software like Salesforce and Pipedrive, which allows users to automatically send leads to their CRM and even assign leads to specific people.
These types of integrations create a direct connection between two software systems. It’s like taking a direct flight between two cities, rather than two flights through a connecting city.
Direct API integration often allows you to use more features and share more data.
How direct API integrations share data
They can be “one-way,” and triggered by events, which means data flows from one platform to another only when specific events occur. For example, an email marketing tool might tell Salesforce when an email has been opened.
They can also be “two-way” integrations that sync data between platforms. For example, you might be able to see all your data in both Salesforce and the email marketing platform.
Some run in “batch” updates, while other direct API integrations run once a day—usually overnight. Others run a few times a day or every few minutes to keep data in both platforms up-to-date.
For example, Leadfeeder’s integration with Google Analytics runs multiple times a day which means users get near real-time notification of leads and other crucial data.
Other direct API integrations are “supported” or “certified.” This usually means the application integrations are developed and maintained by an outside company with permission and support from the marketing automation platform.
The most sophisticated direct API integrations create an almost real-time “sync” between your two platforms, meaning any time data is updated in one platform, it’s automatically updated in the other within seconds.
For this reason, direct API integrations can be very powerful and can maintain near-real-time synchronous data across multiple cloud applications. If you have a complex marketing automation stack and plan to integrate multiple cloud tools, direct API integrations are the options to look for.
Native Applications
There is a special kind of API integration you’ll see that’s referred to as a “native” application. They are sometimes called “add-on” or “extensions.”
Native applications are third-party applications that live on the same servers and infrastructure as the main marketing automation platform. This means they do not transfer data outside the marketing automation platform’s servers. This increases security, but can also limit functionality.
Native applications tend to be smaller “add-ons” that extend the functionality of the marketing automation platform’s built-in features.
Advantages & Disadvantages of Direct API Integrations
The biggest disadvantage of direct API integrations is there are often fewer available than third-party integration hubs (we’ll dive into these next.)
They may also require the help of a developer or development team to create and maintain.
Advantages of direct API integrations:
Robust
Can be one-way or bidirectional
Can run in near-real-time
Great for maintaining synchronous data
Disadvantages of direct API integrations:
Not always available
Can require development resources
2. Third-party integration hubs
With a third-party integration hub, data flows from one cloud application to a central hub, then from the central hub to a second cloud application. It's about as complicated as it sounds.
However, there are some benefits and drawbacks of this type of integration.
To use our flight example again, it’s like taking two flights to get to your destination with a connection in the middle, rather than flying direct.
Say you integrate Marketo and Salesforce through a third-party integration hub. Data moves from Marketo into Zapier, then from Zapier into Salesforce.
Zapier is the most widely used third-party integration hub with over 1,000 connected cloud applications, including us here at Leadfeeder.
All seven of the marketing automation platforms we profile in this article also offer integrations through Zapier.
Advantages & disadvantages of third-party integration hubs
The biggest advantage of third-party integration is there are far more integrations available.
They can also be more affordable than developing an integration on your own. In fact, if you don’t have a large budget or access to a development team, a third-party integration hub might be the only way to connect some tools being used by your company.
There are drawbacks, however. Integrations through third-party integration hubs are “one-way” integrations.
They’re triggered by actions (such as lead submissions through a form on your website) or set to run in batches on a set interval (every 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 3 hours, etc.).
Another disadvantage of third-party integration hubs is they don't create the same kind of real-time “sync” integrations that some direct API integrations do.
They work well for simple integrations between two systems, but they don't always work well for complex integrations.
In fact, complex integrations involving three or more cloud applications tend to break down when using a third-party integration hub.
Advantages of direct API integrations:
A large number of integrations are available
More affordable than developing your own
Development resources are usually not required
Disadvantages of direct API integrations:
Do not sync data in real-time
Only share data one way
Data sharing is triggered
Can break down when trying to integrate more than two applications
Part 2: Integrations for Salesforce, Keap, Marketo, Eloqua, HubSpot, Act-On, and Pipedrive
Now that we've covered the basics of integrations, let's look at how integrations can turn your marketing stack into a marketing automation powerhouse.
Below, we'll explore the integrations available for seven of the major marketing automation platforms we analyzed in our research.
Since all the providers are also integration partners with Zapier, we’ve chosen to list only direct API integrations (including native applications) in our lists below.
1. Marketing automation integrations
The marketing automation integration programs are being updated all the time.
If you can’t find the application you’re looking for in our lists, check with the marketing automation provider to see if an integration has been added—or if a custom automation could be built.
Also, many more potential integration options are available through third-party integration hubs such as Zapier, HubSpot integrations Hub, and Integration.
Also, while we've done our best to make sure these lists are up to date, software companies are constantly adding new integrations.

Marketing automation is the key to scaling your business
Marketing automation allows your business to do more with less. Rather than wasting time on tedious tasks or searching for data, marketing automation allows teams (both large and small) to focus more time on strategy and building connections.
As you consider which marketing automation provider is right for your business, remember to consider the tools you use now and may need to reach your future goals.
And, keep in mind that just because a marketing automation tool doesn't directly integrate doesn't mean you can't connect. Zapier is a powerful tool for connected platforms of all sizes.
You may find you don't need to spend thousands of dollars on marketing automation— a $300 marketing automation stack might meet your goals and save you money.
